Biography
Ally Burnett may not be a household name just yet, but this feisty solo artist certainly has her eye set on dominating the music industry. Known for several years only by her nickname, Ally Cupcake, she is now using her real name and giving her music a chance to grow. The California bred and currently Alabama based artist is fueled by her intense passion for music, and doesn't plan on backing down any time soon. After recording her debut solo EP Talk of the Town in 2009 with Tom Denney at Titan Studio, Ally brought a new and fresh sound to the table with her 2010 EP, The Takeover. Recorded and produced by Rob Freeman at The Pilot Studio in New Jersey, The Takeover's title speaks volumes for what you can expect from the EP itself. With thoughtful lyrics, soaring guitars, and hooks galore, The Takeover is Ally's way of putting her best stiletto clad foot forward. Since venturing off on her own in 2009, she has grabbed the attention of many and has had her music featured on MTV's Paris Hilton's My New BFF: Season Two, MTV's Jersey Shore, various radio stations, DJ Rossstar's Punk Rock Show, and absolutepunk.net's homepage, to name a few. Ally’s newest venture, The Heartbreaker Sampler, is comprised of three songs. From the radio-friendly pop track “Heartbreaker”, to the pop/rock track “It’s Not Me (It’s You)” to the sampler’s almost haunting ballad “If We’re Being Honest”, Ally and producer Rob Freeman prove yet again that they make an unstoppable team. Ally is also the co-writer and performer on the theme song for MTV’s The Seven, so tune in weekdays at 5/4 C to hear her. If you're looking for a solid pop/rock fix, you're sure to find it in Ally's music. And, just as the title of her 2010 EP suggests, you may all want to brace yourselves for a take over!
