I only really care for The War of Art. it's a very good album. Even underappreciated considering all.. Also RIP Chad.

Tango Umbrella is very unique and amazing record. Love it, like everything this band does. R.I.P Chad.

RIP Chad... thank you for devoting your life to music. As far as that final release "Tango Umbrella" I think it sounds good like the instrumentation & song-writing but lot of moments where Cameron's vocals are just very peculiar & bizarre sounding (but not in a good way...)

I don't like doubling vocals where they basically are almost migraine inducing because there's just something off in terms of their pitch... not sure if that was an attempt to be clever but it really didn't work. If I were producing I'd just be like... "Yo, could you just sing it normal like you did on the other records?!?"

I can't help but feel like more bombastic, fast sections would've helped Tango Umbrella. It has a big industrial sensory abuse edge to its production, but the music rarely capitalizes on it in favor of slower tracks. The first two tracks are classic American Head Charge, but I feel like using more of that Ministry influence would help, like they did on Americunt or Seamless. Hell, a fast verse, slow chorus style would probably be incredible with their current direction.

Agreement there... I also feel like Cameron did way too many vocal tracks... vocal effects & doubling, tripling all the time often is done to cover-up a singer who doesn't have that great a voice. His voice is tremendous so I think he should've done way less vocal tracks. A song like "I Will Have My Day" I think should just have a normally sung chorus ("Just So You Know" or "Shutdown") it comes across slow & "gobblin-like" but I'd rather just hear Cameron's remarkable clean vocals.

It definitely sounds like a combination of The War of Art, The Feeding & the Shoot EP. I'm still deciding on whether how much of it works & what really stands out. They're great for this genre of music but it is dark, cynical kinda music still. lol

Still doesn't sound cheesy or outdated like a lot of their contemporaries. [2] I agree that Head Charge have always been a notch above the others... in the upper-echelon of this genre... (would prefer to call it something other than 'nu metal') a certain level of creativity, melody... and radiance (or something) that was just significantly higher than most. Definitely interested in hearing the new "Tango Umbrella" album in 2016...

You guys are definitely too good for the nu metal tag, your lyrics are far more genuine than that scene ever was. Can't wait for the album!

Damn, I forgot the power of the Spector bass their bassist uses. I'm sure it could cause earthquakes if it was loud enough.

And now we've got ourselves an UK tour. Can't say I was looking forward to this beacause I was sure it won't be happening, not anytime soon anyway. Looks like things are getting better and better in their camp.

Hope it's just a prelude.... Damn fine one as it is, but well you know, 8 years, 5 songs and all ;F Or maybe I'll just stop bitching and enjoy what we've got for now ;]

I like this band, but often think this could've been done with less members. The Feeding proved they were doing more with less, even.

I wish the rare unreleased demos had better flow...more Head Charge is always good.
