Blasting out of Worcester in the Midlands with whisky in their bellies and songs in their hearts, And What Will Be Left Of Them? (AWWBLOT to their fans) have extensively toured the UK (and bits of Europe!) playing a plethora of perfect indie-pop. Woop woop!
ARTROCKER: “It’s been far too long since their energised buzzsaw pop-punk debut at The Artrocker Club but now these five young party animals are back out on the road again. 'Come With Me/Look In Your Eye' (PopArt Records) is their most infectious single yet and out in October. Ingredients remain an upbeat boy/girl B52s vocal with garage-punk-fuzzed guitar and electro-synth plus warped but danceable new wave rhythms. With The Chalets out of sight and The Long Blondes regrouping, AWWBLOT head the pack alongside the new artrock sounds of Shrag and Fight Like Apes. Several singles down the line with cool labels Filthy Little Angels and The Little Hellfire Club and now a catchy distorted electro-synth punk artpop single ready to sink it's teeth into you, it could just be their moment.”
DROWNED IN SOUND: “AWWBLOT make me want to dance, scream, shout and sing manically, and during the irrepressible finale of 'Kids In America' all four emerge at various interludes. The male/female anti-harmonies erupt in both a homage to The Slits ('Jesus') whilst subsiding in a mist of self-appropriation ('DIY Not Die'). Sure, this isn't your average Jo Whiley fare, but then why would you want it to be? By the time the final notes of 'Kids In America' bring their show to a close, the bass player’s fingers are a squelching wreck of ripped skin and blood. And What Will Be Left Of Them? certainly mean it, man. Who could follow that?”
