Wow! Talk about an 180' change in their music. The first two were Middle Eastern folk with Melodic Death Metal and the new one, it's just a Gothic Metal album. I like it but the first 2 were great. It seems that I am listening to a different band. :/

Personally I don't like the new album, they've taken a very different approach with it and I have no idea if the band made this choice or the record label but it sounds more like Lacuna Coil than any of their previous works. I also don't like the fact that nearly all the Arabic influence is virtually gone, unlike their previous album "Salam", which stood out because of that. Apart from "Wingless Angel", I don't think any of the other songs are near the quality of their previous releases.

@StinkyBeaverOoz: Can you name me one band that mixes Arabic music (and not Jewish) with metal and death growls? You said its been done a 100 times, can you give examples? Ive been trying to find bands like that.

@OhlookBirdies: Again Melechesh, Salem, Distorted are a very different kind of style. Dont confuse Arabic music with Israeli/Jewish music, they both have a different sound even though they use the similar oud (an Arabic instrument). That's like saying all music with an electric guitar falls under the same style.

@SceneryofLoss: Orphaned Land dont play Arabic Music they play more of an ethnic Jewish sound. So no Orphaned Land is VERY different. Im not sure if you can tell the difference but as an Arab im used to ethnic Arabic music so I can spot that and the North African sound is clear in Arkan's music.
