On a vocal level it is better than Demidevil, it is noticeable that on this album her voice has more prominence and she uses it as an instrument and not as a superficial layer. On a production level, it is almost the same although in some songs it gets repetitive. I think you could take advantage of the fact that almost all of them use VERY similar raw beats, you could make a transition between each song, that one starts with the end of the previous mixed in a mashup of a few seconds is a fucking fantasy, like billie eilish in Happier Than Ever. The aesthetics are beautiful, there is nothing to object. I think it has too many collaborations, and some of them would be better as singles, ik you can't put two styles of artists together in one song and have it fit 100% on the album but you know. The fact that the album and the singles were leaked months in advance doesn't help. I look forward Halloweenie V, let's hope she release something idk. marks: Demidevil: 7/10 ... Weedkiller: 8/10

WEEDKILLER by Ashnikko is a revolutionary album like no other. It shows Ash’s variety in music with various sounds and tracks. Themes of sexuality, male-hatred, and trauma make this album a 10/10 for me. Although you don’t get a second to process your emotions after finishing Dying Star ft. Ethel Cain, you’re immediately met with a raging beat full of feminine anger. This album is Ashnikko’s best and my personal favorite!

This new evolved version of Ashnikko is epic and wonderful. She is so deep and mature and creative. What a brilliant mind. She has worked her ass off on this album and it shows. I can't begin to notice every little details and references yet,but it's invading my mind since day 1 and I can't stop listening

One of the best albums of the year, well worth the wait. You can tell why the singles were made singles though lol

"hating on braindead men, lesbian sex, plants and... killing machines" totally agree, it was already annoying years ago (not the themes itself but the repetitiveness of them over and over again), she just need to move on and introduce something more interesting and new regarding her lyrics. Production-wise this album is a step forward, I like it's sound.

I also think one of the things that makes this feel a bit underwhelming is the wait. This album was announced back in March to be released in June, but then was delayed for almost 3 months. And that's a huge pushback. I would've liked it more if it was released in June since I was more hyped about the album then.

My Album Review: World Eater (7/10) You Make Me Sick! (6/10) Worms (7/10) Super Soaker (10/10) Don't Look At It (5/10) Cheerleader (8/10) Moonlight Magic (9/10) Miss Nectarine (6/10) Chokehold Cherry Python (4/10) WEEDKILLER (9/10) Want It All (8/10) Possession of a Weapon (3/10) Dying Star (5/10) Clearly better than demidevil in terms of production and vocals, it is much better than previous projects except for some details like the aesthetics, the videos and the fact that it was leaked a month before its release. In my opinion, a collaboration with Melanie Martinez would be awesome! If you're more into rock or hard metal sounds like Bjork, this is the album for you. Final mark: 7/10

fair enough it took me a few listens to enjoy it. But I partially disagree. I would say that its different to her usual music style. It has a nice dream pop feel which I think is kind of unique. Also, I'd assume that the goal of this track is to have a calmer/controlled (self-possessed) sound in the album, but I can see how that comes across as 'flat'. I guess my only complaint is to include more emotion/depth to the vocals ?
