I find it hilarious that this album has a reputation for being the most robotic and pointillistic Autechre album, when this is the *only* album they've made since LP5 to be entirely created using drum machines and traditional synths, instead of computers or sentient AI generators. It begs the question of who the real robot is between Ae themselves and the machines they use.

it's also their only album with some of the best ever-evolving drum sequencing on their discography.

This album is like a sound factory, making some awesome stuff but it always tends to start out with some raw untreated beats at the beginning, processing it until the final product is this layered composition that's just great.
