Biography
Mostly remembered for singing one of the ending themes for the anime "Buso Renkin" (武装錬金), Aya Kagami (加々美 亜矢) debuted as a songwriter and composer in 1997, creating lyrics for department store commercials and anime, and moving onto a singing career in 2001. Her self-programmed debut maxi single "Midnight Sea Midnight Fish" was released in 2004, followed by her self-produced CD "CHERISH" in 2005. In 2007, Kagami wrote and sang the song "愛しき世界" ("Itoshiki Sekai"), used as the second ending for the anime "Busou Renkin". In 2008, she also wrote the lyrics for the opening song "はらり" ("Harari") of the PS2 game "Hakuoki".
She has occasionally worked with or for other East Asian artists, most notably SAKI and Cantonese singer Joey Yung (容祖兒). Nowadays she can mostly be found singing and creating music for local projects and festivals in her native Japan.
