“봄날 (Spring Day)” is the title track of BTS’s sophomore repackage album, You Never Walk Alone. The mid-tempo song is usually described as either an alternative hip-hop track or a pop-rock ballad with some Brit rock influence.

The song’s lyrics give a positive light on a friend’s absence, utilizing a seasonal metaphor to deliberate on how things will get better afterward. Considered one of the greatest boy band songs of all time by Rolling Stone, its lyricism was praised countless times by music critics since it was able to showcase longing and nostalgia in an effective way.

After the music video’s release, it quickly broke the record for the most-watched music video in 24 hours by any K-Pop group as of then, surpassing 11.8 million views. Following the album’s release “봄날 (Spring Day)” scored BTS' first ‘roof hit’ on Korea’s largest music streaming service, MelOn. To date, the song is MelOn’s longest-charting song on the streaming platform’s digital chart. “봄날 (Spring Day)” went on to rank #1 on eight real-time Korean music charts. The song hit #1 on the major music charts of 14 countries and placed in Spotify’s Viral 50 in 12 countries, including the US. It debuted on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 Chart at No. 15 and was the first song by a K-pop group to reach the top 10 on iTunes US.

The song received several awards, including Song of the Year at the 2017 Melon Music Awards and a Digital Bongsang at the 32nd Golden Disc Awards. The music video was awarded Music Video of the Year at South Korea’s biggest award show, the Mnet Asian Music Awards.

The song had the official live debut on Mnet’s M!Countdown on February 23, 2017. However, BTS performed it live few days earlier during their The Wings Tour’s two concerts in Seoul, on February 18 and 19, 2017. Spring day is the only song to chart 3 years in a row in MelOn’s Top 40 yearly chart. It has also charted for well over 100 weeks on the weekly chart.
