Basia Lyjak is a straight-up rock chick whose catchy, well crafted tunes and tight, explosive vocals hark back to a day when singing came from your heart and your gut, rather than a pitch corrector in a studio. A tireless, passionate self-starter, Basia’s self-funded releases, "Writings on the Wall" and “Don’t Talk” have been knocking down doors all year; those who hear its catchy, rock-driven and empowering tracks can’t honestly deny their booming, radio-friendly potential. With a team of equally determined supporters at BasiaLyjak.com and an all-star band behind her (guitarist Ron Bechard (Sin Dealer, Crash Karma), bassist Daz Coppins (Fefe Dobson), drummer Dale Harrison (The Headstones) and multi-instrumentalist Pat Kelly (Paris Black Band)), Basia has firmly established herself as an internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter. Basia continues to build her catalogue every day, writing towards regular single releases, an album and a European tour, starting with the release of her FACTOR-funded new single, “What It Feels Like” at NXNE ’09, co-written with Spring Awakening’s Kyle Riabko and produced by Brian Moncarz at his Rattlebox studios, co-owned by Tool producer David Bottrill. A video for “Don’t Talk” has been released to stellar reception, and Basia is preparing to score the soundtrack for the revolutionary www.TheGameCartel.com video game, proving just how much one person can accomplish with endless passion and no fear of hard work.
