On “Mirror,” Bazzi comes to the realisation his life is not the same anymore. After the odd success of his hit single, “Mine,” he’s had to adapt to the mainstream attention from fans and other artists. As a result, he feels everything he does needs to be thought out due to how people might view him. In contrast, he did not have to do this before fame.
In an interview with 106 KMEL, Bazzi explained:
"The feeling of “Mirror” is such as unspecific feeling to talk about it, because it’s not like sadness, it’s not like being mad but it’s like a weird middle space of just like- you know I don’t like this."
