Beach House is one of those bands like R.E.M. that always operates within a similar sound, but also to a discerning ear is always different too. Like a thousand different flavors of the same dish. As Michael Stipe said, if you don't understand it, listen harder.

Their "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me". "Once Twice Melody" contanis enough bangers to place it among the best Beach House material ever and make a perfect album out of them, yet somehow, the fillers wash that perfection away.

I thought the same thing the first time I heard the album. But I feel like it could grow on you, at least it did for me. I think the last half of the album is what clicked for me. Particularly The Bells and Modern Love Stories. Those songs are up there with the best of Beach House so I can't dismiss this album.

I hope so! I figure this album has potential to age really well for me, definitely not gonna write it off

this album still feels a bit weaker, especially compared to their previous 5, but it's definitely got quite a few gems on it. idk sometimes it feels overstuffed to me, so I don't often feel compelled to listen to it all at once. that being said... Superstar, ESP, New Romance, Sunset, Only You Know, Another Go Around, and Hurts to Love are all discography highlights. I will also say that American Daughter and Black Magic could've replaced some of the songs on this album tbh

They did actually. It's technically the official cover and all future vinyl pressings of OTM will have the dark cover according to Sub Pop.

Visually I like the white / gold more, at least it looks better seeing from a computer screen, don't know the effect on real CDs because I haven't seen them in real life

As much as I love Beach House, this record has yet to do much for me. It seems like it'd be their masterpiece but it feels pretty lacking in ideas

I love Beach House and yet I wasn't expecting this excellence. Such a delight from top to bottom. <3

First Beach House album I've listened to from front to back and this is fucking amazing. It's so beautiful crafted. Definitely my favorite record that's come out in 2022 so far.

Over And Over is an obvious closer and if they had ended the album with that track, this would have been a near flawless record.

They play around with more genre and sound styles on here than they usually do, but still manage to make it sound like a cohesive Beach House album. Love it :)

I'm in love with how many different things they're throwing at the wall on this project. I'm not saying every track has to hit the same to everyone but the variety is my favorite part to be honest. I hope they don't get knocked for it.
