This one is fucking awesome and the most underrated of the Ozzy records, and it's also my favorite. The guitar tone is just sick, and the riffs on Cornucopia and Under The Sun are the most evil sounding Sabbath riffs. Supernaut and Snowblind are also favorites of mine, great stuff.

48 years ago, yesterday: ... they released Vol. 4 (fourth studio album) ... let us celebrate... Can we bring it this week to 1.5 million scrobbles (from now 1.1M)?

I wish to thank the great COKE-Cola Company of Los Angeles for making this record possible. It's probably my overall favourite Sabbath album.

Shame that this is overshadowed by the previous two titanic albums (Paranoid and Master of Reality) because for all its weirdness, this album has some of the best work the band has to offer.

Definitely the darkest album Sabbath ever did with Ozzy. I do, however, feel like it falls a bit short in comparison to the other albums apart from TE, NSD and 13 (if we only look at the Ozzy era). Some of Iommi's greatest riffs are on this one, though.

In fact only the 1972 (USA) Warner Bros. Records (BS 2602) edition refers "Wheels of Confusion Icluding: The Straightener" (A-Side Track 1) and "Under the Sun Including: Every Day Comes and Goes" (B-Side Track 5) as you mentioned. (All other edition's tracking lists are the same as we can see above) | https://www.discogs.com/release/3418219-Black-Sabbath-Vol-4/images | On the other hand we know this LP was recorded in Los Angeles (USA) at the Record Plant Studios ...

To the people saying there's no period in the album title: Do you even own the damn album? LOOK at what it says on the actual sleeve/case. Vinyl, CD, Tape they all have the period. The wikipedia entry for the album even includes it. So yes, this is the correct page for Black Sabbath - Vol. 4

If this album won't bring you back from the Dead just to Kill you, then I don't know what will !

@Marsbergen If you add up all the different versions of this album it's near the top. My personal vote is for "Black Sabbath Vol. 4"

I think it's all about different tag, last fm called this album "Vol. 4", on the CD I clearly see "Black Sabbath Vol. 4", but inside the booklet there are two other options "Volume 4" and "Black Sabbath Vol 4". There is only one question this recording was real or "Was it illusion?" ;)

Heaviest album ever. This is the album that made the aliens turn their spaceships straight back to where they came from. They didn't want to fuck with us mental humans.

it's a toss up of cornucopia and snowblind for me and tomorrow's dream, and you can't forget wheels of confusion.
