Biography
Chapel Hill-based band formed from former members of Idyll Swords and Polvo
" a rock 'n' roll quartet with two gnarled guitars, a subterranean bass and a drum set that's played with a strength that threatens to split snare skins with every wallop. All four of the musicians–Tom Atherton, Dave Brylawski, Steve Popson and Grant Tennille–know each other from other bands and decided on forming Black Taj after those other bands, all famous and infamous for their idiosyncratic impressions, broke up. That is so simple: They met, formed a band, made a record and found a label."
