“Sunday Girl”, a single off of the American rock band Blondie’s 1978 album Parallel Lines, was written by guitarist Chris Stein to cheer up vocalist Debbie Harry after her cat named Sunday Man ran away.

The song was a number 1 hit in the UK and Ireland. It was never released as a single in the US and was the lead single for Parallel Lines in Australia but failed to chart until they rereleased it with “Heart of Glass.”

In 2014, the band re-recorded the track for their album Ghosts of Download in honor of the band’s 40th anniversary. In 2022, a French version of the track was rereleased on vinyl along with a demo and a live version in honor of Record Store Day.

The song was covered by She & Him as well as Lush.
