In my opinion, this is their best album. They dropped the party anthems and it was before they starting making blue collar motivational anthems. It's their most introspective album and Ritchie's guitar playing is at its absolute best. Jon's lyrics are, well, still not very good and they verge on cringe-worthy where he tries his best to sound deep. But given the albums other strengths, that's actually a pretty small complaint.

I hadn't listened to These Days (or Bon Jovi in general) for a long time, but I dusted off this CD earlier and gave it a whirl. I forgot how much I loved these songs 10+ years ago. I think this album in particular is heartfelt without being trite and rockin' without being bombastic.

such a powerful album, a lot of power ballads and some darker songs like Hey God, they always do better job at darker albums like this one, which they don't do anymore.

Other than "CrossRoads" (a Greatest Hits album), this is my very favorite Bon Jovi album ever. Gotta buy it again. Accidently got left in a former friend's car, along with several other CDs I haven't been able to replace (including Rosanne Cash's "Rythem and Romance" which is no longer being released and now costs anywhere from $25 to $50 - if you can even find it available). The loss of the albums were a much greater loss than the loss of the "friend." :(

it's so great, but also their darkest album, xD some songs are a little depressive, but I love them all... they're too good to be true =)
