Montreal native Daniel "Boom" Desjardins was vocalist and founding member (1993) of Quebec group "La Chicane" (who performed at the Olympics in Australia) before leaving in 2004 and releasing solo albums "Boom Desjardins" (including a posthumous duet "Pour Une Dernière Fois" with Gerry Boulet (vocalist for Quebec rock band "Offenbach") who passed away from colon cancer in 1990), live CD/DVD "Au Nom De La Musique", in 2008, "On Se Ressemble Tant" and in 2009, "Rock Le Quebec",
Boom has been nominated for several Juno awards, and achieved success within the Canadian Charts, both with La Chicane (selling over 500,000 albums), and as a solo artist (His eponymous debut sold more than 130,000 copies).
