Bridget Kearney (born 10 June 1986, Iowa City, Iowa) is an American musician and composer. She graduated with a dual degree from Tufts University and New England Conservatory of Music. She is noted for her songwriting, double bass playing and working in many different genres of music.
"A busy Boston bassist and band leader, Bridget has performed in festivals
and clubs across the United States and abroad, apprearing in Shanghai, China
with Jeremy Udden and at the Panama Jazz Festival in Panama City with Carmen
Staaf and Richie Barshay–guests of piano great Danilo Perez. She is the 2006
Grand Prize and Lennon Award recipient in The John Lennon Songwriting
Contest. Having studied a diverse mix of music, with such artists as Dave
Holland, Steve Coleman and Joe Lovano, Bridget's music can be described as
honest and unique, her bass playing solid and unselfish."
