Thinking about him and Eddie Cochran makes me so sad. Both had so much potential, both careers cut short by tragic early deaths. Such a shame.

He would have been bigger then Dylan if he lived. He had just started his career. 22 years young. We will never know who he would have become. But we know that music history would be totally different with him in the 60s and forward. True legend!

And yeah ofc he's bigger then Dylan in some ways, but you know what I mean. He would've had a great career, just like Dylan have had.

I think he was too creative to stay in the same genre as his fellow artists did. Rock and roll was only the beginning, but sadly also the end.

I had a truly bizarre and illogical dream last night. In the dream, Buddy Holly wrote a bad song. Obviously, such a thing couldn't have happened in real life.

That does sound like quite a terrifying dream. Very illogical indeed! Crazy what weird fantasies our brains can have sometimes.

The Buddy Holly Collection has to be my favorite album ever, even if it's a compilation. 50 tracks, perfect flow from song-to-song, all-killer-no-filler.

R.I.P. Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and Big Bopper. Three days ago was the 61st anniversary of their deaths.

It makes me wonder how he would have done if he survived that air collision. Would he be still popular in the 1960s? I would say he'd be still popular in that decade and beyond.

I think he'd have survived the British Invasion for sure. He was moving out of rock and roll in October of 1958 until his death.

Most likely. Actually I would see Ritchie Valens surviving it the best since he was the youngest and his career was only beginning. The Big Bopper would have probably faded since he was more of a novelty act. His music would have been considered passé or he would even survive if he adapted to the times.
