The Sweetest Thing is a single from Camera Obscura’s fourth record My Maudlin Career.
The song is about Stuart Murdoch from Belle and Sebastian. Tracyanne dated him. "When you're lucid" refers to a line in Belle and Sebastian's "This is Just a Modern Rock Song" where Murdoch says "I'm only lucid when I'm writing songs."
