“I LUV IT” marks Camila Cabello’s lead single, featuring Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti, for her fourth studio album C, XOXO. The track’s title was teased in a series of Instagram posts throughout February 2024, before Camila posted the first snippet of the song to her Instagram on March 5, 2024. On the same day during an NBA game between the Miami Heat and the Detroit Pistons, Camila was spotted sporting a basketball jersey reading “I LUV IT,” handing a copy to Jimmy Butler before the game. A demo version of the track leaked on March 21, 2024, before the official release date and pre-save link was announced by Camila on her socials on March 25, 2024. The song and its accompanied video were released on all streaming platforms on March 27, 2024.
The track samples the chorus from Gucci Mane’s 2009 song “Lemonade” and interpolates Rihanna’s hit track “Cockiness (Love It)”.
