Biography

There are at least four groups and one musician called Camp.

1. Camp is a Swedish disco/house group that released the single 'Who Loves You?' in 2006.

2. Camp are three Zurich boys to keep an eye on in the future. Referring to themselves as 'smalltown neurotics,' their motivation for making music is summed up by Woody Allen’s one-liner: 'Failing in life can be dangerous; failing in art is simply embarrassing.' Within one year, Camp release 'Talking Cure,' the follow-up to their debut album. The band prove that there is more to them than writing straight dance floor hits. The three rock musicians, every one of them knowledgeable about the more modern history of pop music, have found a multi-layered sonic language, the speed, style, beauty, and mood swings of which never fail to surprise and move the listener. On stage, the main purpose of Camp’s melting of traditional rock instrumentation and electronics is still to make girls dance.

3. David Turgeon is an obfuscation composer, strategist of sonic vagueness, and sometimes even a performer (Camp, Ensemble Camp, Asyncdrone, Period Three, L’Île de béton…), David Turgeon is also founder and director of the No Type label. He is also known as a graphic designer, DJ, inventor of arcane programming languages and the author of two graphic novels.

4. Camp was a grindcore band from the Netherlands mainly influenced by bands such as Terrorizer and Brutal Truth. In 2001, they released their first 7" split with Intumescence. In 2003, a second 7" was recorded, but it was never released due to a split-up in 2004.

5. camp was a three-member Japanese country band.
