"Kangaroo Court" is an electropop, indietronica song, with funktronica, nu-disco influences; by the duo Capital Cities. The song was released as a digital download in the United States on July 9, 2012. The track appears on their studio album "In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery".
A kangaroo court, by definition, is “a self-appointed or mob-operated tribunal that disregards or parodies existing principles of law or human rights, especially one in a frontier area or among criminals in prison.” they’re normally rigged so the defendant is found guilty even without sufficient evidence or reason. In the music video, the zebra is prosecuted and executed just because the club doesn’t allow zebras.
