Biography
Carling Kristina Campbell (born November 1st, 1985 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, classical pianist, and composer. Her music is an eclectic mix of blues, soul, rock-steady and dub reggae rhythms that, when combined with her unique vocal styling, delivers a truly ear grabbing sound.
Carling has worked with some of Reggae Music's iconic figures and innovative minds including Mikey Dread (whom she credits with exposing her to dub culture, arranging the unreleased track "THE RED BOOTS" and providing her with constant encouragment to develop her music) and Hopeton Brown a.k.a. Scientist (who was recruited as a sound engineer for KWALIA-EP 2011).
The result of these encounters is manifestly evident in Carling's work on her debut singles JUST BREATHE (April 2011) and STRANGE PETALS (March 2011), both of which are available on the Crowning Sun Inc. record label at www.crowningsun.org.
