Biography
Castle River is a Saskatoon Duo that have been electrifying crowds with their syncopated rhythms, brotherly-like harmonies, and a monstrous full sound, since late 2010.
Originally called The Father Figures, Castle River has matured their sound and kept their momentum going. With Matt on the guitars, Billy on the drums, and both of them trading vocal duties, you can hear the countless hours they've spent honing their craft since starting out in various high school bands.
Castle River has spent the last 14 months playing with every local band and touring act that will have them. With each gig Castle River has been winning over fans one at a time. The band has shared the stage with Rococode, Jordan Cook, Foam Lake, Slow Down Molasses, and countless others. Recently they sold out Amigo's Cantina (voted as one of Canada's most prestigious venues via CBC) and the duo wowed audience at The Medel Art Gallery's annually Lugo celebrations.
It's obvious that Castle River has no intention of being only a local phenomenon. In March 2012 the CBC asked Castle River to be part of their star making special, On A Cold Road. The special, airing all over Canada, and internationally via the podcast, further point to this fact that this duo is poised for much bigger things.
This spring with a full engaged management team behind them Castle River plan on playing all across the country, spreading their huge and unique sound to new ears.
