Biography
CAUGHT SHIP are Patrick McMahon, Benjamin Snaith, Shanon Higman and Kahli Carter. Lean electronic dark metallic grooves. Interest in strong jawbones, ancient wisdom and the magic of the industrial age.
Live they are loud. Their songs are becoming more finely carved from the feedback and textural noise. Benjamin is rambling and shouting and crying and laughing and trying to blend in with the air. The beats and synthesisers, the basslines and the thin guitars charge forward or whirl ominously, lost in a violent warp of self perception and hope for the future.
They've done entire tours with the goal firmly in mind of attempting to open gateways for inter-dimensional travel. This was done with varying degrees of success. For the moment their chief aim is to hone their songwriting craft so as to become a good band and less of an art project. A band that in any environment, under any circumstance can perform to whatever crowd and pull the air from their lungs and blow any dull negative energy from their brains.
CAUGHT SHIP have been featured on compilations and have had cassettes and cd's released and distributed by Bedroom Suck, Totem Tapes, Tenzenmen, Analogue Monologues and New Weird Australia. NWA have just released a collection of live tracks on an album titled CAUGHT SHIP LIVE: START DENCING DAD START DENCING. Which is available via the band themselves and New Weird Australia in both physical and digital editions.
