Cesca Waterfield is a singer-songwriter who grew up in Virginia and Alabama.
Reviewers have described her sound as drawing from American roots music. Her songs are often narrative "story songs" in Southern and blues traditions. Her first release, "Sweetbriar," was a collection of acoustic tracks noted for strong vocals and stirring lyrics. Her second release, "Blessings & the Blame," was more rock-oriented and she was backed by a full band.
