Biography
Chants of Maledicta were a Brazilian electro-goth duo from Salvador (BA) who formed in 1995 and ceased activity in 2000. After releasing one demo-tape, Elaine Cristina (vocals , keyboards, songwriting/lyrics) moved to Norway from Brazil and the band received several record deal offers. Unfortunately though, the first album of the Chants of Maledicta was never recorded due to the fact that the male vocalist (Alexandre) wasn’t interested in going to Europe to record. Unable to find a suitable replacement in Norway and dealing with health problems, Elaine decided to end the project.
demo-tape 1997 tracks:
-Mournfulness
-Spirit Dance
-Industrial Revolution
-Bela Lugosi’s Dead
