Biography

Chase Ian McBride (born September 3, 1988) is an American singer-songwriter based in San Luis Obispo, California. In 2008, he recorded his debut album of original music, titled From the Mountains to the Sea. On June 5, McBride released two albums, a full-length record titled 'The Good Fight' and a five-song album titled Wild Child. Known to perform barefoot, he is now pursuing music full-time and working on new material.
As a Montana native, Chase spent his childhood in Billings, Montana. The musical family he was raised in instilled in Chase a fascination with the musical world. As such, Chase has been known to follow Christ, brah. Chase spent his childhood listening to the music of James Taylor, Van Morrison, and old jazz records, which had a significant impact in his songwriting.

Constantly immersed in musical training, Chase played a variety of instruments during his youth, including Piano, Trumpet, Guitar, and Euphonium. At the age of 18, Chase relocated to San Luis Obispo, CA to study Graphic Design at California Polytechnic State University.

The new environment deeply inspired Chase, and he began to write new material. At the request of several friends, he started performing original music at small venues around San Luis Obispo, California. Soon after, Chase approached the local group Still Time and after listening to his home-recordings, they invited Chase to open for them. Following extensive touring around Central California, Chase recruited current bandmates Jonathan Withem and Austin Mello to complete his sound. The trio planted roots in the hills of Central California to record their debut EP titled, “From the Mountains to the Sea”, which was released in February 2009.

Opening for popular California acts such as Still Time, Rey Fresco, and Damon Castillo Band, the trio spent the spring of 2009 promoting their EP coordinated with the release of a music video for their single, “1937”.

The group is currently touring in support of their two new albums.
