Biography
Following in the footsteps of hometown heroes such as Building 429 and Decyfer Down, Chasing Eden is emerging from eastern North Carolina into the national spotlight. Led by vocalist Andrea Brink, the five-piece, Wilmington, NC group has captivated audiences with their powerful, driving riffs and soaring melodies. Over the past year, Chasing Eden has gone through several changes including the addition of bassist Brandon Sanders, drummer Chris Sherman and guitarist Glenn Hartzog. Their arrival brought a new depth to the music and new life to the group, founded by Brink and guitarist Joseph Trouton.
Due to the overwhelming response to their debut release, The Dying Place, Chasing Eden has witnessed a surge in their following and has received numerous accolades, including being named as one of the Top Rock Artists of 2009 and 2010 by OurStage.com/MTV. With the help of producers Chad Blevins (Chad B. Studios) and Brandon Mills (Decyfer Down), Chasing Eden is working on a full-length album, scheduled for release in 2011.
"As seems to be the case these days, any rock outfit with female vocals is automatically compared to Flyleaf, Fireflight, and Evanescence…so let me start off by saying two things: First, that’s comparing apples to oranges. And second, I like Chasing Eden better than all three…" -Indie Vision Music, The Dying Place EP review, 2009
