Is this emo? I.E. how can it compare to Rites of Spring? The lyrics don't seem personal, how is this emo but not MCR? Just something to think about

The band has some interesting ideas instrumentally speaking, it's a shame their screaming vocals are so annoying

...if you don't like this type of vocals why the hell are you listening to real screamo

It's not screaming vocals in general, I'm talking specifically about the ones in CTTS

one of those rare bands who seemingly don't have a single misplaced note in their entire discography. i'm not too bothered by eight-year gaps between releases when it results in music this sublime. i don't know why i forget about their existence so often. it feels like every song they've ever made was made specifically for me. maybe it's best that i don't overplay them, though - it gives their music an element of mystery and majesty that i'm afraid would wither if i played them too often. is it strange that i find their entire discography beautiful, even the loud, screamed parts? (i think deathspell omega is beautiful too, so maybe i just have a warped sense of aesthetics.) i really hope volume two comes out someday, but even if it doesn't, they have two completely flawless full-lengths and an excellent ep and split, which is more than many bands will ever accomplish.

Some how As The Roots Undo is clicking with me for the first time since I was 15. Still, their best work was on the split with pg99 IMO.

Strangely, I think the EP is not even listenable apart from In the Nervous Light and Houdini Logic. I guess this is growing up.

I fucking LOVE their inflection. A mixture of spoken word with singing and screamo.

There is an interview where they've stated that there may or may not ever be a Vol. 2.
