Biography
There are at least 2 bands that have used the name Civil Service:
1) Civil Service are a post-rock band from Manchester, UK. Soaring and melodic guitar lines interweave with ambient synth and an eclectic mix of electric drums to create an introspective journey on the nature of modern life and the human condition - without a single word sung.
2) Civil Service was a 5 member band from South Bend, Indiana consisting of:
Nathaniel Frederick, Zachary Blankenship, Matthew Holzwart, Jacob Albert, Johnathan Albert
Formed in 2009, the members of Civil Service had known each other for years (two since birth). Primarily self-taught on all instruments, the band experimented with a variety of sounds and styles. An EP entitled "Sunday, November 8" was recorded on the same date in 2009.
As Matt left the band in early 2010, the remaining members decided that Civil Service could be no more.
