sorry for spamming but i just read some of the older shouts and i love that i am not alone in the way this song makes me feel. this is such a special and unique feeling, and it makes me so happy in a uniquely human way that so many others have felt the same thing after listening to this song years before i did. it is such a special connective feeling.

“But then I heard this old song, Pearly-Dewdrops’ Drops. And I thought someday I would be at a party in college or something. And I'd look up and see this person across the room. And from that moment, I'd know everything was going to be okay.”

First Cocteaus song I ever heard. I loved it, and hated it. I loved it because it was so unique and beautiful. I hated it for the very same reason; my brain couldn't handle being challenged quite that much, so it rejected it. It took around ten years (!) to fully come around to the brilliance of this song and of the band. Nowadays, I realise and appreciate that they had far more challenging songs than this one, and I am in love with all their quirks and odd characteristics. You cannot copy or imitate Cocteau Twins, and that is absolutely to their credit. I'm just sorry about those ten years I wasted...

Aural/emotional distillation of slow dancing with your first love. Skin tingles. Love.

I love the intro on the 12" version. This is probably their most accessible song from the earlier years. It's just amazing.
