Biography
London-born composer and producer Colin Mansfield moved permanently to the US in 1971. He was a founder member of the acclaimed Minneapolis group, Fine Art active 1978-84), during which time he produced a variety of local bands, most notably early Husker Du demos as well as their first single, "Statues." After Fine Art, he was in Grey Area (1988-91) along with ex-Husker bassist Greg Norton, and drummer Jo Jones (formerly Loyal Subjects and Language Club, two bands Colin produced).
Starting around 1984, Colin began writing music as a solo musician, giving up guitar to concentrate on using his computer. He currently has 3 solo albums: Colinizations II (label 19b, available through ambient.us); Black Box, White Table (label 19b, ambient.us) and Millions (Blue Water Records - http://www.bluewaterrecords.com/millions). His latest album is a collaboration with Blue Water Records artist Christopher J. Wray called Sound Commandos and was released by Blue Water Records in June of 2006.
