I used to love this band... Heck, I could even deal with Making Monsters and the DmC soundtrack, which was pretty rad btw. But after that they completely lost it and its one of the bands who made a 360 on their music style to the point where I dont care about them anymore. The thing is, the new stuff isnt even particularly good but just the most average Industrial Metal you can come up with. It just doesnt hold a candle or merrit in comparison to his unique TBM sound from back in the day. Nowadays I even have a hard time listening to them at all, knowing what their discography turns into. Actually Dawn Of Ashes has made a very similar development. Bands who were on the top of their game but completely threw it anyway.

They did indeed 180° their own music style, but the old stuff still great. Good enough to continue to enjoy. It's like me with Funker Vogt when Jens Kästel left... I just can't get into the new singer!

The DmC soundtrack was good as a one-off spin off into a different style - but it still had those giant soundscapes, "How Old Is Your Soul?" is still one of my favorites from them. Today, I was re-listening We Love You after a good while and I can say that We Love You was the final point where the stylistic blend was at it's peak, then they just abandoned most of the stuff that was great about them and went dollar store Rammstein but heavier or something idk.

Somehow some moments on the new Bring Me The Horizon record are more like Combichist than Combichist nowadays.

The industrial rock/metal sound is improving a lot. Not My Enemy is definitely better than the Combichrist I've heard lately

Since devil may cry's soundtrack, it was obvious that the band was starting to change. We Love You was the prelude of that changing. But I don't think they changed for the worst. It's called evolution. They never abandoned the electro-industrial sound, It still very present in their current songs. They just added an industrial metal influence, I mean, that mixture is perfect. If they had never changed, they would be labeled as "repititive", eventually. I assume that I also found strange this changing in the beginning, but I think it's a matter of getting used to it.

Checking in here after several years. I see they still suck. See you all in a few more years then.

New album is as boring as expected. Also, is it just me or does the production sound really weak? I have the feeling if you make industrial music your music should sound powerful or impactful, but One Fire sounds really flat to me.

I think the biggest problem is that they have dropped their gigantic soundscapes, this is what they were really good at(and they still are when they actually decide to do it). We Love You still had those and I liked it a lot, it had a good balance of electronic and guitars. But No Redemtion, TIWDB(only Homeward had a giant soundscape) and One Fire sound tiny and somewhat generic. Although I gotta admit, One Fire is better than TIWDB, since at some points you actually feel like you are listening to Combichrist, but it is still not even close to how good these guys can be. I don't mind bands evolving and changing, but sometimes they evolve in such a way where it would be better if they just treated this as another project.

Well I like both. Many tracks from TIWDB grew on me. One Fire is pretty good until the title track. The second half is kind of boring. Of course neither come close Everybody Hates You, WTFIWWYP or Demons.

The new single sounds better than the last album, but that doesn't say much. Last good effort of them was Maggots At The Party when they play it live, otherwise the band is pretty much dead and boring now.
