This has fuckin' massive sounds! I was sleeping on it for a while, but damn, the orchestration is amazing!

This and Buitter Suites to Succubi will forever stay my favorite from Cradle of Filth, this were the first albums i have heard from them and still a big love for them, Damnation and a Day is amazing concept album, nicely produced, imaginative and mystical, really great effort.

The most underrated album in their discography, in my opinion. The storytelling and lyrics are absolutely sublime. It is a very long album, and you may have to take it in a few times. But once it hits, there is no going back!

The only thing that lets this album down is that the bass guitar is often nonexistent

It is a shame the bass doesn't come through often enough. I've found CoF mixes to be a bit surprising over the years in terms of what isn't prioritised. Where the bass can be heard (e.g. Doberman Pharaoh) it adds a lot.

This album is pretty perfect. And it's still not as good as Midian, Cruelty or Dusk lol [2]

the spelling of Babalon A.D. is correct. it is about Babalon, not the city Babylon.

the instrumentals featuring on this album are truly great, some of the best interludes ever. rest of the music also is pretty good. it could be one of my favourite albums, but - unfortunately - the vocals ruin everything. i wish dani had done on this record vocals similar to e.g. dusk... or cruelty. i especially hate the double-layered vocals. dani should squeak instead of pretending, that he is able to growl, because he obviously isn't, and that saounds like crap.

I don't understand people who hate this album, it's thousand times better tnan Thornography and GsoDT together. [2]

I love the Paradise Lost interludes, they feel quite grand and add to the mood. Also, no love for 'Hurt and Virtue'?! That is one of their best tracks, and I'm a 'everything-since-Midian-is-shit' type of fan.

The Keyboards in Babylon AD make me feel strangely nostalgic << Same here! I think because they released it as a free download in 2003.

Anyone else notice how the "official" tag for track 12 is misspelled, on both instances?

Easily my favourite Cradle of Filth album, and one of my favourite albums period. It was pompous and pretentious, just as any quality Cradle of Filth album should be.
