Crystal Abyss is a Melodic Black Metal band with Symphonic and Orchestral influences from Russia. The band was formed in May 1998. During the period 1999 - 2005 the band had active concert career and did several recordings. The most noticeable among these recordings is EP "Sageness Fallen" - 2001.
In 2006 Crystal Abyss recorded a full length album "Word of the Darkest Ages". The album was recorded in Studio X(PL) by a famous Polish producer Szymon Czech. The album was released in March 2007.
In March 2007 Crystal Abyss performed on the main stage of a prestigious Metalmania festival(PL) along with Testament, Sepultura, My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Destruction, Entombed, Zyklon and other world class metal bands.
In November 2009 the band has started the recording of its next album. The drum parts for this album were recorded by Dariusz "Daray" Brzozowski (DIMMU BORGIR, ex-VADER, VESANIA).
