Biography
Agressive hardcore-metal from the center of Europe called Ostrava.
The band started playing in 1999, hence the name, and was comprised of former members of Disfigured. When Pancho came back from the fucking U.S.A., Deaf 99 (the first band D99 was re-named) could start to work in a practice room and practice, practice….and you know… practice some more. Our first gig was at the T.H.C. rock club in Ostrava.
In summer 2000, the members of Deaf 99 decided to record our first album at the Barbarella studio in Ostrava, with sound engineer and guitarist Mrož and with the assistance of George Krejčí. Our debut album, AGGRESSIVE, consists of 9 songs.
Then came our cross-country tour in 2001.
After recording AGGRESSIVE, drummer Richy left the band and was replaced by George Fries in 2002.
This group of 3 musicians started to create material for new CD. After half a year, the MORAVIAN HARDCORE LEAGUE demo CD, which was recorded in the practice room, was complete. Deaf99 again performed at venues around Bohemia and Moravia…. But then came another setback… Georgie left the band and Deaf was winding down to catch another drummer.
Luckily in 2003, David came to learn hardcore beats, along with Adam, who supported the music with his violence and dangerous riffs. Now, Deaf 99 is again complet and ready…
The band began to tour in biggy style. There were some gigs abroad (Poland and Holland), but we couldn’t forget about our cross-country tour. DEAF99 are in lights of festivals, e.g. PLNÁ HVĚZD, BOCHETA OPEN AIR, BRUTAL ASSAULT…
In autumn 2004, our second album, VELIKOST ODHODLÁNÍ, was born at the ŠOPA in South Bohemia with the help of sound master Standy Valášek. There are 5 songs in Czech, and 3 English songs.
In autumn 2005, our third album, KONTAKT, was created, again at the ŠOPA studio, and again with master of sound Standy Valášek. You can listen to 9 songs, all in Czech.
In November of the same year Adam left us and after months of being on hold, Slavek joined the band… since then, we have been practicing for two months to begin again enjoying live-playing all over The Czech Republic.
If you were waiting for another album in autumn 2006, you were unsuccessful. Deaf 99 was practicing our new songs and, during this time, there were some gigs with related bands.
In May 2007, our fourth album, PO NA SHI MU was, for the third time, recorded at ŠOPA studio with the sounds of master Standy Valášek. You can listen to 8 songs, again completely in Czech.
In autmn 2009 band released fifth studio album called Deaf1Culto. Band also celebrated 10th aniversary of its existence.
In spring 2010 drumer David decided to left band and started new life in England. Empty drummer spot was filled in very early by band's very devoted fan Pode, who is long time band friend and known drummer of Carnal Diafragma. He knew every song so he was the right person to be chosen! Band is complete again, but not for long time… After some issues, that band dont want to talk about, guitarist and former of band, Pancho, was replaced by new guitarist Hanyz in April 2010. Now band is complete and ready to kick ass all over the country… In 2010 band played so many gigs and festivals.
Late in 2010, neverending argueing with Pancho leads to decision about changing band's name. guys decided to rename band as title of last record, Deaf1Culto.
Signs of 2011 are New name, new future, new experiences… band signed these words by new singl called Okovoko, which is direct message to their fans saying: "We are still alive, and much stronger than ever" After recording single, band shoots video for that song, which was shooted and directed by Pode, who is very talented in filming and stuff around that….
For 2012 band announced focusing on writing new material so they wont concert so often as they did so far. Band promises, if everything goes right, release new stuff in late autmn of 2012.
