Biography
DJ Bryant Smith began his music journey in church at the age of 7. He later studied classical music in the Brooklyn Boro-Wide Chorus and the All-City Chorus of New York. While singing was a passion, he discovered a new love, HIP-HOP! he began rhyming for fun but as a Grambling State University student, he and a friend, Easy G, won the University Rap Battle. he later met up with Lee Ford and Andre Buntin to form the a capella group, IN-VEST. As a member of IN-VEST, he performed for the Mayor and Governor of New York Statre, the US tennis Open, Sony Sound Stage, The Apollo Theatre and a host of other venues. As a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, he served as the Assistant Conductor under Pastor Frank A. Haye, ran the Hip-Hop Ministry, called NuPrayze and assisted in the running of Total Praise, the 150-voice choir of Emmanuel. He is a contributing writer to the CD project, "Total Praise Live" ,writing and rapping on " Don't You Dare Give Up" and singing lead on the Timothy Wright classic, "Magnify Him" His 1st CD, J.U.L.Y.(Jesus Unconditionally Loves You",released in 2008 depicts real life Christian struggles along with the victory because of such struggles. He is married to the lovely Debra Banks-Smith and lives to fulfill God's purpose in his life!
