DJ Mehdi (born Mehdi Favéris-Essadi in 1977) was a french DJ who began his career in 1992 with the rap band Ideal J (with Kery James). He also spun for 113. He created the label "Espionnage", with names like Rohff, Rocé, Karlito, Dj Feadz, and Zdar (Cassius).

He also worked with Assassin, MC Solaar and Keziah Jones. Mehdi took part in several Original Soundtracks such as "Femme Fatale" (De Palma) and "Rois et Reines" (Arnaud Desplechin). He was the official DJ of Kourtrajmé, a french team of short movie producers.

He made two solo albums: "Story of Espion" (2002) and "Lucky Boy" (2006), also launching a Chicago House-influenced collaborative project together with Riton in 2010 entitled Carte Blanche.

DJ Mehdi passed away on September 13th 2011, when the skylight of his Paris home collapsed while celebrating his close friend Riton's birthday, causing him to fall several meters to the ground. He was the only fatality during the incident, while three others were injured.
