Biography

Daniel Waples is from Greater London and first encountered the Hang Instrument late one night at a music festival in Lincolnshire back in 2005.
Daniel Waples is one of the world’s best known handpan (hang drum) players having played in over 50 countries and amassing over 40 million views on YouTube.
Daniel supports himself as an independent musician playing the handpan, an instrument associated with energy work and alternative healing – one which he hopes will become a symbol for universal peace and the inner journeys all people take pursuing their individual paths.
“Hang in Balance” is the artistic title Daniel Waples has been playing under since 2011 and can be found on social media @HangInBalance.
Almost instantly he made the transition from 'Guitarist' to 'Percussionist'.

Occupation
A wandering minstrel: was a medieval European bard who performed songs whose lyrics told stories about distant places or about real or imaginary historical events. Frequently they were retained by royalty and high society. Minstrels were eventually replaced at court by the troubadours, and many became wandering minstrels, performing in the streets and became well liked until the middle of the Renaissance. Despite a decline beginning in the late 15th century. Minstrels fed into later traditions of traveling entertainers, which continued to be moderately strong into the early 20th century, and which has some continuity down to today’s buskers or street musicians.
