Biography
Datahowler, born Ross Edman, is a musician, producer and graphic designer from Dallas, TX. At a young age Ross started training classically in percussive arts and drums eventually moving on to guitar, bass, keys, vocals, ethnic percussion, sequencers, DJing, etc. His history traverses many genres from touring in Hardcore outfits to Motown revival acts, to creating indie mash ups and making tripped out space beats. He is an original member of the Midwest hardcore act Decades (State Of Mind Records) and was the drummer for The Secret Handshake (Triple Crown) in 2010. He also was known as Objektiv One for many years.
Along with his musical abilities Ross has been pursuing graphic arts most of his life. He has been designing in the music industry for over 8 years now and has had the privilege of designing album covers for such artists and establishments as DJ K.O., Sene, Apple Juice Kid, Animate Objects, Dumhi, Midaz, Dub Floyd, Potholes In My Blog, and Illroots. He also had the honor of working on promotional campaigns for Shania Twain, Ryan Adams, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Jay-Z, Larry The Cable Guy, Saliva, Hoobstank, Jimmy Eat World, Drive Thru Records, Lost Highway, Def Jam, Def Jam South, Universal and Island.
Edman has been featured on blogs such as Potholes In My Blog, Colorcubic, ISO50, Dallas Observer, Pigeons And Planes, Kevin Nottingham, The Soul Dojo,The Music Ninja, Ear Milk, Audible Hype, Okayplayer, 2dopeboyz, Illroots, Fuckyeahmashups, Get Off The Coast, East Of L.A. and Nahright. Edman also has held numerous top 10 spots on Hypemachine for his mash ups including a number 2 spot for his Kesha / Breakbot mash up in 2010.
In his musical career Edman has shared the stage with 3OH!3, Hellogoodbye, Baths, Braids, Sing It Loud, Every Avenue, Down With Webster, There For Tomorrow, H2O, Bane, Have Heart, This Is Hell, Grave Maker, Crime In Stereo, Dead Hearts, Defeater, The Narrative, Speak, A Cursive Memory and many more.
