"Let Me Sleep Beside You" was a song Bowie recorded as an intended single in September '67 (along with Karma Man), his first recording with Tony Visconti. Following the music hall stylings of his debut album, Bowie explained he wanted to record some "top ten rubbish" to follow up its predecessor Love You Till Tuesday, despite its rather adult themes. Decca however chose not to release it (nor its replacements When I Live My Dream or In The Heat of the Morning), resulting in Bowie leaving the label.
Bowie revisited this track for 2001's "Toy", which also remains unreleased.
