Biography
Emerging from the small town of Dundas, Ontario, indie folk group Dawn and Marra rose to win the 2010 Hamilton Music Awards Rising Star competition. Soon afterwards they released their first album and had a busy summer festival season. Their most notable gig was the First Annual Green Belt Harvest Picnic where Dawn and Marra shared the stage with many renowned acts including Daniel Lanois, Ray Lamontagne, Gord Downie, The Reason, Sarah Harmer, and more. Dawn and Marra are currently working with noted Canadian Producer/Engineer/Mixer Dan Weston (who has produced The Paper Lions, Northcote and Attack in Black) on their much anticipated 2012 EP.
At only nineteen and seventeen, these two young ladies’ incredible harmonies and engaging original songs establish them as a must see act in the indie-folk revival.
