Biography

Dead Pixels. Five black spots on the bright screen of the city.
A new band from very diverse backgrounds including Egypt, France, Denmark and the UK.
Enigmatic lead singer, Danish Lone Blomhoj, is something of a young Bjork; beguiling and charming, her esoteric voice is one moment soft and the next minute escalating into full throttle octave-hopping.
They give pop a darker, sexier new sensibility, admirably avoiding the usual sonic pigeonholes and playing music like its all that matters. It's a feeling a lot of us can understand, but not many of us can sum it up in a four minute sonic argument of pounding drum, guitars and synthesized mishmash.

Upcoming debut single "Words are poison / So you say" has been produced by Gram Pixel and Sneaker Pimps’ founder Liam Howe and rekindles the 80's post-punk era by combining the Lone’s urgent vocals with thrashing drums and a progressive chorus. This is an epic, yet lo-fi pop gem.

Formed in late 2005 and originally made up of Danish chanteuse Lone Blomhoj, Graeme and Peter they released their first EP entitled "Left for Dead" a month after forming. In the summer of 2006 a rare double A-side, 7-inch vinyl "Not tonight/1000 yard stare" was released to critical acclaim, followed by a stream of UK and European shows. In 2007 Dead Pixels felt the need to go back to what they know best, musically delving into the darker sounds of their earlier material for inspiration while putting more emphasis on melody and lyrically wearing their hearts on their sleeves. With an expanding sound also comes the need to expand the live set up, so in the summer of 2007 Egyptian born sonic artist Nuha and in 2008 French drummer Denis joined to add more synths, textures and percussion….

With this addition Dead Pixels sound harder, faster and moodier than ever before…
Words are poison/So you say will be released in download only format on December 8th 2008.
