Song to a Refugee is one of the best albums of 2020. I love the song - We Believe You.

Still puzzled at the low number of listeners. I don't know, she may be content with the size of her audience of course, and maybe the last.fm stats aren't very representative, but to my mind a musician of this calibre should be appreciated more widely!

Diana Jones: House Concerts York - 27th February - £12.00 Having just featured on BBC TV live at the Barbican concert hosted by Seasick Steve, as part of the BBC documentary on American Folk Music - she kicks off her new UK tour here on the 27th February. As Seasick Steve said - "boy - this girl brought the silence to me..." Increasingly compared to the likes of Iris DeMent and Gillian Welch... Diana Jones writes songs which she sings in such a haunting high lonesome that one can’t help but wonder if she isn’t the lost daughter of the Carter Family. Diana Jones, like Gillian Welch and Iris Dement, has the uncanny ability to write original songs that sound like they originated a couple centuries ago in some backwoods West Virginia holler... she can sit and sing for a spell on my front porch any time. www.houseconcertsyork.co.uk

Came across her on BBC 4's series 'folk americana live at the Barbican' - awsome voice and heartfelt lyrics - already ordered the CD!
