Released in November of 1992, "Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)" was the lead single from jazz-rap trio Digable Planets' debut album, Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space). It reached #15 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold for sales in excess of 500,000 units.
Billboard Magazine ranked "Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)" as the 81st biggest single of 1992 in the United States. It remains Digable Planets' best selling song to-date.
