Biography

Welcome to the world of Discotheque , a place where Pop, Kitsch, Glamour and Sequins are essential.

Looking through the history books of pop can sometimes be a depressing affair. While it’s true that pop music is an ever evolving, mutating affair it is often blighted with bleak times of heavy guitars, moping ballads and violent rap. A dark cloud has held court over the pop world for far too long now.

Yet in that hour before the dawn comes a glimmer of hope, illuminating the music industry with their dazzling glitterball fusion of dance, swede-pop and catchy harmonic melodies. It’s 2007, Discotheque have arrived.

Discovered and created by Mighty Music Management (Gina G, Beyond), this boy-girl four piece pop combo were a major contender for the BBC's Making Your Mind Up show, to become the UK entry for this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Thanks to the increasingly detached-from-pop-reality powers that be at the BBC, Discotheque were told that they were not what the public would be into. Undeterred, and like a phoenix rising from the flames, Discotheque soldier on and are here to prove the naysayers wrong.

The sounds that the group create are innovative and exciting, yet pay homage to some of the greatest acts in pop history.

Take the melodies of Abba, sprinkle in a hint of the danceable beats of Deuce, stir it up with the Swedish sensibilities of Alcazar and finish with a dose of the new urban cool vibes of Mika and the Scissor Sisters. Mix this all together with their own unique style and you have Discotheque

This quartet is formed of Glenn, Maria, Victoria and Ben and with some of the UK's best and renowned pop producers that have worked with everyone from Kylie to Alcazar, and from Diana Ross to Dannii Minogue, these guys are gonna take you back to the days of good old piano pop.

Get back on that dancefloor…..
