Disfigured Elegance was a deathcore band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The band was formed in 2009 with members ranging from 15-17 years old. With a lineup consisting of Mathieu Paquette (vocals), guitarists Patrice Plouffe and Pierre-Luc Gagnon, Sebastien Hamelin (bass), and drummer Cedrik Drouin, the quintet set out to craft a creative and powerful brand of metalcore/deathcore that would avoid the cookie-cutter “riff-breakdown-riff-breakdown” framework followed by many of their peers. The band wasted no time recording their debut album The Last Disease. Unfortunately, the band met an untimely demise when their vocalist Mathieu Paquette took his own life in 2011. Mathieu was only 20 years old when he passed. A demo titled 270991, named after the vocalists birthdate, was released in 2019. Divebomb Records released their album on CD in 2020 which included a 12 page booklet.
