Dividing the Element is an experimental metal band from Harare, Zimbabwe. The band was founded in October 2012 by Sherlic White and Chris Van. The band`s objective is influencing Metal as a genre to grow within the country. The band is made up of Chris Van (Vocals & Guitar), Archie Chikoti (Guitar & Backing Vocals), Mat Sanderson (Bass & Backing Vocals) & Nick "Newbz" Newberry (Drums). The Single is a combination of a few experimental diverse elements, combining brutality with stylistic composition. The single "3rd Street" was written in the local language, Shona, in order to relate with the local public in their understanding and to awaken the country to Metal as a music genre.The sound itself is a mixture of local traditional Sungura combined with metal influences such as Metalcore and Death.
