Biography
Double Affair formation has originated in the ’one-man-band’ project doublefair and it is waywardly focused on collaboration with other musicians. Under these pseudonyms we find Jozef Vlk, whose name is connected with many theatrical, film, dance and other productions and who is the author and a producer of all the compositions of this project. In the past his name was connected most of all with a band Sleepy Motion of Martin Burlas and an album released on the label Legal records/1995. In 1995 he founded a duet Teapeak, together with an actor Martin Turčan from a theatrical project Debris and they, beside their concert on Bratislava Wilsonic, have released a single Baumbauhteamx on a selection Groove control vol1 under the Universal records/2000 label. To this project he has invited the musicians Maroš Hečko and Marcel Buntaj, known from the Free Faces band, classical music performers Jozef Lupták and Peter Krajniak, Veronika Wiedermannová - singer and multi-instrumentalist, Bulay - singer from the South African Pretoria, Jana Olahová from Blue Sundown and Ana Krsmanović, accordionist from Belgrade. Jozef Vlk works with sampling, synthesizers, guitars, though the basic level of his sonic structured buildings is an intuitive work with sound. Sampling is mainly used not as a repetitive tool, but more often in the sense of morphing of any sound ’input’, whatever it may be. This gives an origin to something like a retarded sound structure composed from individual layers, in the final shape of a song or a sound construction. Double Affair is devoted also to its own company of a physical theatre DEBRIS COMPANY.
Formácia Double Affair, vznikla z pôvodného ’one-man-band’ projektu doublefair a je svojvoľne zameraná na spoluprácu s ďalšími hudobníkmi. Za týmito pseudonymami sa ukrýva Jozef Vlk, ktorého meno sa spája s množstvom divadelných, filmových, tanečných a iných produkcií a ktorý je zároveň autorom a producentom všetkých skladieb v projekte. V minulosti sa jeho meno spájalo najmä so skupinou Martina Burlasa Sleepy Motion a albumom ktorý vydali na labeli Legal records/1995. V roku 1995 zakladá spolu s hercom z jeho divadelného projektu Debris Martinom Turčanom duett Teapeak, s ktorým okrem koncertu na bratislavskom Wilsonicu vydávajú singel Baumbauhteamx na výberovke Groove control vol1 na labeli Universal records/2000. Na svoj projekt si pozval hudobníkov Martina Hečka a Marcela Buntaja známych zo skupiny Free Faces, Jozefa Luptáka a Petra Krajniaka pôsobiacich v oblasti vážnej hudby, speváčku a multiinštrumentalistku Veroniku Wiedermannovú, Bulaya, speváka z juhoafrickej Pretórie, Janu Olahovú z Blue Sundown a Anu Krsmanović, akordeonistku z Belehradu. Jozef Vlk pracuje so samplingom, syntezátormi, gitarami, ale základnou úrovňou na ktorej zostavuje svoje sónické štruktúry je intuitívna práca so zvukom. Sampling väčšinou používa nie ako repetitívny nástroj, ale častejšie v zmysle morfovania akéhokoľvek zvukového ’inputu’, nech je tým čokoľvek. Tak vzniká niečo také ako retardovaná zvuková štruktúra poskladaná z jednotlivých vrstiev, v konečnom výsledku pôsobiaca ako pesničková alebo zvuková konštrukcia.
